Baracoa is a Cuban-Italian feature film that explores themes of identity, human relationships, and cultural belonging. Premiered across international film festivals, the film required a digital presence that reflected its artistic vision while providing audiences, critics, and festival organisers with a window into its story.

The challenge was to design a website that complemented the film rather than competing with it. Unlike commercial websites, the experience needed to evoke emotion and curiosity while presenting essential information such as the storyline, cast, crew, screenings, and festival journey in a clear, understated manner.

Our approach was inspired by the pacing of cinema itself. We designed an immersive, editorial-style experience where imagery, typography, and whitespace worked together to build anticipation. The interface remained intentionally minimal, allowing the film's visuals and narrative to take centre stage while ensuring seamless navigation across devices.
The final website became an extension of the film's identity, presenting Baracoa with the same sensitivity and craftsmanship found in its storytelling. It offered audiences and festival communities a polished platform to discover the film, explore its journey, and engage with its world beyond the screen.
